With over 30 years of drawing and painting as a hobby in my hometown of Burbank, CA, I finally made the leap in the middle of the insanity that was 2020, into a full time career as an Artist.

 

I had worked steadily as a CAD artist in the fashion industry for 14 years and felt that tug (i.e. intuition, though I didn't know it at the time) towards something new and exciting in the last two years of being someone else's employee.  After dedication to therapy, life coaching, ALL the self help books I can devour, online Art courses, and then, a sudden tragic death in the family, I took the plunge.  I decided to use my gifts and live a life of purpose.

During the beginning of the pandemic, I sketched, watercolored, and acrylic painted portraits (people and pets) as commissions, gifts for friends/family, and for my portfolio. Nothing feels as spiritually fulfilling as using my gift in a way that brings happy tears to someones eyes.

My art is a dialogue—a conversation that seeks to unravel the complexities of shame, beauty, vulnerability, and liberty. Through bold depictions of the female figure, I invite viewers into the intimate landscapes of thought and emotion, challenging them to explore what lies beneath the surface of appearances.

 

Nature plays a pivotal role in my work, not merely as a backdrop but as a metaphor for an ethereal wonder, symbolizing freedom, transformation, and growth. The elements of earth, water, air, and floral weave through the compositions, creating a bridge between the physical and the transcendental.

 

Each piece is a journey through a spectrum of emotions—joy, curiosity, intrigue, and personal growth—capturing the moments of introspection and revelation. My goal is to create an open space where we can confront the parts of ourselves we often hide, transforming them into something beautiful and free.
