Jane Fonda in her iconic role as Barbarella from the 1968 campy cult classic “Barbarella” was a powerful source of inspiration for me to paint. Filled with sexual prowess and a ton of hairspray, it’s her confident gaze that threatens more than her laser gun. For this painting, two stencils of her silhouette were created out of masking tape, then used to spray paint over and create a negative image from the background.
